It’s come to my attention that Drupal is considering using JSON-API in core.

> **[New experimental module: JSON API](https://www.drupal.org/node/2836165)**

> Problem/Motivation To explain why having something like a "JSON API" module in core makes sense, I first have to explain the process/choices that led to the current REST module in D8. I will explain later what "JSON API" is.

Figured I’d mention it here for anyone interested!

@steveklabnik thanks for giving this visibility. I’m trying to move this initiative forward. It would help a lot if people from outside (and inside) of the Drupal community left a comment expressing the desire for this to get into core.

Things like _«it would really increase the chances that I choose Drupal as my backend if it shipped with JSON-API in core»_ (or any other thoughts) can make a difference in this.
