Extensions, Profiles etc what's the status?

First time I post here and basically I would like to know what’s the status with the extensions (also known as profiles related to RFC 6906).

At the beginning Media Type parameters were considered but then they were deprecated and profiles were considered instead. I am not sure if this is the latest mechanism for extensions but I was wondering with profiling how negotiation is performed.

In any case does anyone know where is the latest github issue to track cause I was lost in the repos issues jumping from one to another ? It’s something that interests me.

There’s an open PR for profiles that’s very close to being merged, I’d say. That’s in #1268. There’s a bit of spec text left to write, but I believe the core team now agrees on all the design details, which was a long time in the making.
